Spring Cleaning

Loving Textiles, of all kinds is sort of addiction of mine, understanding different weaves, fibers and care.  When our customers take table linens, or the organic cotton bath towels home, It is my hope they get taken good care of.  With that in mind I have been on nearly a year long hunt for laundry soap that we could offer our clients, while staying true to our mission. I was fortunate to find Rachel Bollin and her wonderful Goats Milk Laundry soap.   Her story started when her husband became ill, and things had to change.  She started in the laundry room to reduce chemicals in her home, B&N laundry was founded on the sweat of a determined  women. We are pleased to partner with Rachel to help you preserve your beautiful textiles.  Available in small boxes that can clean 25 laundry loads. or the larger bags that will handle 70 loads.  Felted wool dryer balls, and an innovative stain stick round out the product line. 3 essential oil scents, Lavender, Lemon and Eucalyptus.  Entire line is available in the store or in our online shop.

This last September I was invited to attend a Craft show in Guatemala and so loved meeting the producers of many of the products I already had in the shop and many more new groups and their beautiful work.
Today the treasures finally arrived, here are a few things that I have placed in the web shop, they have come a long distance and are ready for a forever home. Just in time for you to have under the tree.
Here are some of the stories.
I met Siggy, she produced lovely small wood products using the roots of old coffee trees.  Partnered with our signature blend of salt I ordered dozens of this lovely salt well and it will sell with a small sample of salt.   The perfect gift for the foodie on your list. $22
The colorful plastic shopper is perfect for your grocery store and farmers market visit, $29.
Of course my favorite is the tall wood Giraffe painted in the best colors... $32
and Beautiful papers with images of the most beautiful weaving in Guatemala. $3 a sheet

We are expanding our store hours and staying open late on Friday nights till 7 in both stores.
Tall Blessings,

Passion, Purpose and People motivated us to start GIRAFFE Home.

Fair Trade and Ethically sourced goods for your Home.

As we celebrate our 9th Christmas on Vashon Island, and 3rd Year in Tacoma, we have met so many wonderful visitors to the shop and they have asked about shopping options when they go home.

We are thrilled to be able to stay in touch with our friends, and share our finds. A format to close, what I call the Circle of Fair Trade.
